Medievalists refusing to read aloud in medieval languages

Not all medievalists do this, of course—but I’ve met quite a few. I’m grateful to Jamie K. Taylor and Grace Armstrong of Bryn Mawr College, who taught me to love reading aloud in Middle English, Old French, and Middle French.
